Despite being one of the front-runners for the San Francisco 49ers head coaching position, New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has decided to stay put.

“At this time, it’s best for my family and myself to remain here,” McDaniels said.

This seems to be a well-played move by McDaniels.

Considering he’s failed at being a head coach once before, the next opportunity he gets may be his last one and with how unstable the 49ers franchise has been in recent years, that would’ve been a very risky job to take.
