Something was off with Richard Sherman all season and now we have the answer. Compared to years past, quarterbacks used to fear to throw the ball Sherman’s way, but that wasn’t the case this season.

Many assumed Sherman lost a step or two, but at the age of 28, that doesn’t seem to be normal. Come to find out, the Stanford product was playing through a major knee injury.

During Pete Carroll’s radio show on 710 ESPN Seattle, he broke the news.

“He dealt with a significant knee the whole second half of this season and it was a struggle to him to try to get out there. He had an MCL problem that he could play with, like Russell did.”

However, this injury was never listed on Seattle’s injury report.

“Honestly, I didn’t realize we hadn’t revealed it,’’ Carroll said.

This is a situation we expect the NFL to look into very soon.
