The Tennessee Titans plan to honor former kicker Rob Bironas, who was killed in a single-car crash on Sept. 20, during Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

The Tennessean reported the Titans players will wear a helmet sticker and there will be a moment of silence for Bironas before the game. The Bironas family will attend the game as guests of the Titans.

Bironas spent all nine of his years in the NFL playing for the Titans from 2005-2013. He is the franchise’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,032 points.

Events leading up to the death of Bironas, who died in a crash in Nashville, Tenn., are under investigation by authorities who received multiple inquiries from drivers who claim he intentionally attempted to run them off the road.

Bironas, 36, lost control of his SUV while traveling at a high rate of speed and went off the road, hitting several trees before turning upside down, Metro Police said. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. There was no evidence of drugs or alcohol.

Bironas, who was married to Rachel Bradshaw, the daughter of Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw, was released by the Titans in March.
