Per a source, Davidson quarterback J.P. Douglas has a workout scheduled with the Cleveland Browns as well as two other NFL teams. Douglas an invitee to the NFL Super Regional Combine (March 21-22) that just wrapped up in Phoenix. Reports say that he had a terrific throwing performance which helped him accelerate his NFL Draft stock. With good footwork and more than enough arm strength Douglas is beginning to create a little bit of a buzz around NFL circles.

Douglas (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) is gifted athletically, but do not confuse his athleticism with his ability to play quarterback. He possesses the sound fundamentals to play the position and just so happens he can wow you with his skills on the field that go beyond just reading a defense and making the correct throw.

The Cleveland Browns currently have Josh McCown, Johnny Manziel, Thaddeus Lewis and Connor Shaw on their roster at quarterback. McCown is the only true pocket passing option with limited mobility compared to the other three on the roster. Douglas fits the profile of a smallish more athletic quarterback in the mold of Manziel, Lewis and Shaw.
