Peyton Manning Back At QB For Broncos

Only Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak would begin a quarterback controversy just one week prior to the start of the playoffs.

After a tough start which saw the Broncos commit five turnovers in a little over a half of football, Peyton Manning came in and relieved starting quarterback Brock Osweiler.

On Manning’s first drive, he completed a pair of short passes for 20 yards and led the Broncos down the field for a touchdown, mostly by handing the ball off to Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson.

Osweiler completed 14 of 22 passes, for 232 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions, one on a dropped pass and another when his arm was being hit.

Manning led the Broncos to a come-from-behind 27-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers, securing the No. 1 seed for Denver in the AFC.

Did it look like vintage Peyton Manning?

Sadly, no.  He ended his day completing just five of nine throws, for 69 yards with a sack.  The game plan was simple and most of his throws were short.

With the Broncos defense being the best in the NFL, the quarterback position won’t need to do much in the postseason.

With that said, Gary Kubiak has a quarterback controversy on his hands and whoever he chooses to start in two weeks will have to win, or else he’ll be to blame.
