We will condense all of Sunday’s action into a few minutes of observations, news and notes.

Green Bay 38, Chicago 17

Aaron Rodgers looked like Aaron Rodgers again as he went 22 for 28, 302 yards, four touchdowns and no picks. Jay Cutler was terrible in the second half and the desperate Packers got a much needed victory.

Houston 23, Buffalo 17

J.J. Watt had the best defensive play you’re ever going to see as he plucked an E.J. Manuel pass and took it back 80 yards to the house. In a battle of bad quarterback play, Manuel proved to be the worst, completing less than half of his throws with a pair of interceptions. Neither team is particularly good.

Baltimore 38, Carolina 10

You just knew Steve Smith was going to have a great game and he certainly did, catching seven passes for 139 yards and a pair of scores. What happened to that great Panthers defense that we saw in 2013 and the first two weeks of this season?

Indianapolis 44, Tennessee 17

There’s nobody playing better at the quarterback position than Andrew Luck right now. He leads the NFL with 13 touchdowns and the Colts look like they’ve shaken off the woes from the start of the season….or they’ve just played Jacksonville and Tennessee in consecutive weeks. That’s life in the AFC South.

Detroit 24, N.Y. Jets 17

Really nice road win for the Lions against a pretty tough Jets defense. Megatron was mostly a decoy but Matt Stafford still played efficient football. On the Jets side, Geno Smith had two bad turnovers and the fans are calling for Michael Vick. Tough spot for Rex and the gang.

Tampa Bay 27, Pittsburgh 24

It’s going to be difficult, if not impossible to go back to Josh McCown after Mike Glennon led the team to a comeback win in Pittsburgh. Glennon wasn’t great, but he go the job done. Really bad loss for the Steelers, who were 16-2 in their last 18 home games against NFC opponents.

Miami 38, Oakland 14

The Raiders looked like they had some quit in them as Miami made offense look very easy. Great game for Ryan Tannehill after the controversy that surrounded him this week. Derek Carr left the game with a high ankle sprain and will miss some time (usually 4-6 weeks).

San Diego 33, Jacksonville 14

The Chargers exploited a terrible Jacksonville secondary and a good team did what it was supposed to against a bad team at home. Blake Bortles made his first start for the Jags and played pretty well, despite being hamstrung with poor receiver play and no running game.

San Francisco 26, Philadelphia 21

The 49ers defense held the explosive Eagles offense to exactly no points. Colin Kaepernick and the Niners running game finally wore down the Philadelphia defense as they received no breaks from the usually efficient offense.

Minnesota 41, Atlanta 28

Teddy Bridgewater was sensational throwing and running, and the only negative of the game for Minnesota was that Bridgewater left with an ankle injury. The Falcons are simply a different team away from the dome. This was a game that they really needed to get.

Dallas 38, New Orleans 17

When the Cowboys make a commitment to run the football, they’re a pretty good team. Kudos to defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli who has done a masterful job this year with a bunch of guys that wouldn’t start on most teams. The Saints defense looks terrible and their offense was completely out of sync. Forget the early Super Bowl predictions, New Orleans looks like their record says- a 1-3 team.
