Devin McCourty Not Confident in Patriots Secondary

It didn’t take long for the departed Darrelle Revis to the get the He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named treatment at Gillette Stadium.

Speaking with the media Tuesday during voluntary workouts, defensive back Devin McCourty flashed his million-dollar smile when asked if he was surprised the All-Pro cornerback decided to return to the Jets.

“Who?” he laughed along with the crowd, before offering up, “Nah, we’re still friends.”

“I’d be lying if I came out here and told you we were gonna be great,” he said. “Same thing last year –- when we all got together, we didn’t know what to expect. We gotta put the work in now. We’ll grow as the process goes on, once we get on the field for OTAs and we’ll start practicing, doing things like that. That’s where you put the work in, and give yourself a chance to be a good secondary.”
