In this edition of “What We’ll Be Saying On Monday,” we look deeply into our crystal ball and give you Monday’s headlines, today.

5 Undefeated’s Go Down

This looks like another blockbuster Saturday in college football as there are some great matchups featuring undefeated’s such as Auburn versus Mississippi State and TCU versus Baylor. By the wee hours of Sunday morning, we will see no fewer than five undefeated teams fall and the most wide open college football season in years will be even more wide open.

Golson Can Make His Move On Heisman

With early Heisman favorite Todd Gurley suspended indefinitely, an already wide open Heisman race becomes that much more wide open. Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is already on the radar, and he will have a chance to add to his resume as he will keep the Fighting Irish undefeated with a big win over North Carolina.

Golson has a great comeback story as he missed all of last season and he plays for America’s most visible program, Notre Dame. Like it or not, the Irish are very relevant and if their quarterback plays well and they keep winning games, he will be invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony.

We Have A New No. 1

Although the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles have as much talent as anyone in the nation, they haven’t really played like a top team. The ‘Noles should win easily at Syracuse, but they won’t be the Number 1 team in the country on Sunday. The Auburn Tigers are playing better football than anyone and a win at third-ranked Mississippi State on Saturday should garner them enough support to take over the top spot in the polls, regardless of what Florida State does.

Order Is Restored In the AFC East

We’ve heard plenty about how the New England Patriots are not the same caliber of team that keeps making long playoff runs. This writer even said it here. As poorly as the Pats have looked, they are still the absolute class of the AFC East and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. New England will take over first place by themselves for the first time this year as they beat up the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Three-Way Tie in the NFC East

Seemingly everyone has been wrong about the NFC East. Rumors of the division being the worst in football have been greatly exaggerated as a resurgence by the Giants and Cowboys have made a Philadelphia runaway a very strong three-team race. With the Dallas Cowboys traveling to Seattle, where no road team wins, we can and will see a three-way tie at the top of the division when the New York Giants defeat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night football.

A Four-Way Tie in the NFC North

Although it feels like the Green Bay Packers are the best team in the NFC North, they are still just one game over .500, just like the Detroit Lions. A tight division will become even tighter on Sunday as the Packers will lose on the road to Miami, and the Lions will drop their game at Minnesota. Add in a Chicago victory in Atlanta and we will see a four-way tie atop first and last place as everyone in the NFC North will have a 3-3 record.

In the NFL, it’s always better to admit a mistake than to compound it. For the Buccaneers, the decision to burn a 2016 second-round pick on kicker Robert Aguayo has proven to be a mistake. The Buccaneers made the definitive admission of their error on Saturday, cutting Aguayo. He exits with $428,000 in fully-guaranteed salary [more]

After the Buccaneers surprised everyone by taking a kicker with the 59th overall pick in the draft, G.M.
