Offensive Rookie Power Rankings

1. Odell Beckham, New York Giants

Odell Beckham is not only the best offensive rookie in a loaded rookie class, but he’s already one of the best players in the NFL. Beckham has elite speed, hands and route running abilities and his presence alone will extend Eli Manning’s career. On Sunday, OBJ became the first rookie to gain over 140 yards with three receiving touchdowns in a single game. Beckham now leads all rookie receivers in receptions and yardage despite missing the first four weeks of the season.

2. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans caught another touchdown in Sunday’s loss, giving him 11 on the season. Evans is also averaging 16.1 yards per reception this season, which leads all the top rookies and confirming his status as one of the league’s big play threats. Evans wins jump balls and his numbers have been especially impressive considering the lackluster quarterback play he’s had to endure.

3. Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers

Kelvin Benjamin went over 100 yards receiving in Sunday’s victory for the first time in roughly a month as he was one of Derek Anderson’s go-to-guys. Benjamin would be the hands-down leader for Offensive Rookie of the Year in most seasons with the stats he’s put up, but this year has an abnormal amount of talent in the rookie class.

Defensive Rookie Power Rankings

1. Aaron Donald, St. Louis Rams

Aaron Donald is an absolute monster in the middle of the Rams defense. Donald leads all rookies in sacks with eight, and he registered another sack on Thursday, giving him six sacks in the last seven games.

2. C.J. Mosley, Baltimore Ravens

C.J. Mosley’s impact on the Ravens’ defense can’t be felt solely from the stat sheet, but he is putting up impressive numbers. Mosley leads all rookies in tackles (120) and had a big game in the Ravens’ victory over the Jaguars on Sunday. Mosley had seven tackles and a big sack of Blake Bortles, as Baltimore looks poised for their playoff run.

3. Chris Borland, San Francisco 49ers

Chris Borland was playing fantastic football before he suffered an ankle injury on Eric Reid’s interception in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. That play was a microcosm of the 49ers season as even when something good happens, an injury to one of their most productive players occurs. It’s unclear whether Borland will miss any more time, and he has 107 tackles, five passes defensed and a pair of interceptions.
