We had more good picks than bad last week and with four weeks remaining in the regular season, we’re hoping for a strong finish.

Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo

With the Bills blowing their big lead in Oakland, they put themselves clearly behind the 8-ball in terms of trying to stop their 16-year playoff drought.  Pittsburgh is still battling for the NFC North title, so both teams are equally motivated.  When motivation is equal, let’s go with the better quarterback.  Steelers 31, Bills 21. 

Denver vs. Tennessee

This seems like a potential Vegas trick as the Titans clearly have the worse roster, yet are favored in the game.  Sure, the Titans can run the ball, but Trevor Siemian should be back for the Broncos and that should be enough to get a win.  Broncos 20, Titans 17. 

Washington vs. Philadelphia

It’s fallen apart for the Eagles as Carson Wentz is forced to throw far too often and the defense isn’t doing its part.  They lost their best receiver, Jordan Matthews for the season and they really don’t have a reliable pass catcher.  Washington needs this game to keep pace in the Wildcard race and Kirk Cousins should play solid football.  Redskins 27, Eagles 17. 

Arizona vs. Miami

This looks like another potential “trick” as the Cardinals are favored crossing three time zones with an early start.  The Cards have nothing to play for and Miami is in the thick of the Wildcard race.  I feel good about the home dog.  Dolphins 24, Cards 20. 

San Diego vs. Carolina

Philip Rivers should have his way with a really bad defense and it’s going to be tough for the Panthers to block Joey Bosa.  It’s another west coast team traveling across three time zones with the 10 a.m. start, but the veteran quarterback will make up for that.  Chargers 29, Panthers 23. 

Cincinnati vs. Cleveland

The Battle of Ohio involves exactly zero playoff teams this year.  The Bengals are coming off a win and feel good about themselves, and there will be additional pressure on the Browns being that this will be their best chance to get a win.  RG3 is back, but he will be rusty.  Bengals 23, Browns 17. 

Chicago vs. Detroit

It’s really tough to envision the Matt Barkley led Bears to come up with a road upset over the first-place Lions.  Let’s not overthink it.  Lions 31, Bears 13. 

Houston vs. Indianapolis

The Texans have a better roster, but the Colts have been hot lately.  Indy has the better quarterback and really that should be enough.  Colts 24, Texans 13. 

Minnesota vs. Jacksonville

The Vikings should be primed to be upset as their offensive line is a mess and they can’t run the ball.  Fortunately, they’re playing Jacksonville and it’s likely that the defense or special teams will get at least one score.  The Jags can’t be trusted to beat anyone that isn’t Indianapolis.  Vikes 20, Jags 9.

N.Y. Jets vs. San Francisco

This is the worst game of the week and may drive some fans to soccer.  Bryce Petty is pretty bad, but so are the 49ers.  Someone probably has to win, so we’ll assume it’s the home team.  Niners 9, Jets 6.

New Orleans vs. Tampa Bay

The Bucs have been red-hot, winning four straight games and putting themselves in good position to win the NFC South.  Whenever we get too high on Tampa Bay, they make us look like fools. Not this time.  Saints 34, Bucs 31.

Atlanta vs. Los Angeles

It’s tough to count on the Falcons defense to stop anyone.  With that said, it’s even tougher to count on a Jeff Fisher coached team to win football games.  Quarterback > Home Field.  Falcons 24, Rams 17. 

Seattle vs. Green Bay

This might be the best game of the weekend as the Seahawks will play their first game without safety Earl Thomas, and it will be against Aaron Rodgers.  The Packers don’t have as good of a roster as Seattle, but they need the game more.  Packers 24, Seahawks 20. 

Dallas vs. N.Y. Giants

The Cowboys get to avenge their sole loss of the season as they travel to the swamps to take on the G-Men.  New York is in the Wildcard race and they certainly need the game more than Dallas.  Giants 38, Cowboys 28. 

Baltimore vs. New England

The Ravens visit Foxboro with the best defense in the NFL.  This is a prove-it game for Baltimore, as they are in first place, but few see them as a real contender.  They usually play the Patriots tough and Monday night will be no different.  Pats 26, Ravens 20.
