Week 14 NFL Picks

Find out which division leaders will lose this weekend.

Last week started off strong, then ended with a thud.  We already have one win in our pocket thanks to the Cardinals win over the Vikings, and we hope to add to it.

Buffalo vs. Philadelphia

Shady McCoy vs. Chip Kelly?  Sure, but that’s not important.  The matchup that will determine the game is the Bills defense vs. Sam Bradford and I like Buffalo in that one, as well as the Bills offense against a leaky Eagles D.  Bills 27, Eagles 19

San Francisco vs. Cleveland

Johnny Manziel is back in a starting role and the Browns crowd will be energized.  With two teams as awful as San Fran and Cleveland, it’s difficult to say who will show up.  Here’s a shot in the dark: 49ers 16, Browns 13.

Detroit vs. St. Louis

It’s not who you play, it’s when you play them.  If this game occurred in September or early October, the Rams would be a big favorite.  Right now the Lions have some momentum and are playing pretty good football.  Lions 24, Rams 13.

New Orleans vs. Tampa Bay

The Saints defense is bad.  How bad is it?  Bad enough to where Jameis Winston gets Rookie of the Week again on Wednesday.  Bucs 41, Saints 31.

Tennessee vs. New York Jets

The Titans offense looked great last week in large part to some atrocious tackling, poor schemes and no pass rush from Jacksonville.  This is a real defense who will shut down Marcus Mariota.  Jets 24, Titans 10.

Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati

This is a statement game for the Bengals as they can sweep away the Steelers and win the AFC North.  Where the Bengals want to win, the Steelers are desperate and need to win.  Antonio Brown is playing out of his mind right now and he will not be stopped.  Steelers 27, Bengals 24.

Indianapolis vs. Jacksonville

We’re picking an upset, which isn’t really an upset (Vegas), but nobody thinks they’ll win.  The Jaguars will win their final game of the season on Sunday and Blake Bortles will have a huge game.  Jags 31, Colts 27.

San Diego vs. Kansas City

The Chargers just put their best defensive player, Corey Liuget on IR and Philip Rivers may not play.  Even if he does, it won’t matter much.  Could the Chiefs go from 1-5 to 11-5?  Possibly.  Chiefs 24, Chargers 14.

Washington vs. Chicago

The Redskins found a way to lose at home to Matt Cassel and the Cowboys last Monday.  Now they’re going on the road, on a short week against a better coach in John Fox and a better quarterback in Jay Cutler.  It’s a week to week league.  ‘Skins 28, Bears 23.

Atlanta vs. Carolina

The Falcons might not win another game this year.  The Panthers might not lose a game this year.  It’s a week to week league, right?  No upset here.  Panthers 35, Falcons 20.

Seattle vs. Baltimore

The Seahawks are playing good football and part of that is schedule-related.  The only question in this game is whether Matt Schaub will be able to break his pick-six streak.  Seahawks 27, Ravens 0.

Oakland vs. Denver

Brock Osweiler has been competent as Broncos quarterback and the Raiders are all but eliminated in Wildcard contention.  Easy win for Denver, right?  Wrong.  Raiders 24, Broncos 20.

Dallas vs. Green Bay

It’s time for the Packers to regain control of the NFC North.  The Cowboys will probably score, but will they score twice?  Packers 24, Cowboys 5.

New England vs. Houston

This is actually a pretty good matchup for the Texans as they can generate a pass rush and exploit the Patriots secondary.  With that said, I can’t pick the Patriots to lose a third straight game.  Patriots 27, Texans 19.

New York Giants vs. Miami

Can you trust either of these teams?  The Giants defense is terrible and the Dolphins team is terrible, despite having pretty good individual talent.  I’ll take the home team which happens to have the better roster.  Dolphins 23, Giants 20.

Last week: 9-7

Season: 106-85

In the NFL, it’s always better to admit a mistake than to compound it. For the Buccaneers, the decision to burn a 2016 second-round pick on kicker Robert Aguayo has proven to be a mistake. The Buccaneers made the definitive admission of their error on Saturday, cutting Aguayo. He exits with $428,000 in fully-guaranteed salary [more]

After the Buccaneers surprised everyone by taking a kicker with the 59th overall pick in the draft, G.M. Jason Licht explained the move by heaping superlatives on the player. “I was very excited along with my staff and coaches about Roberto for a very long time,” Licht told PFT Live in May 2016. “It’s not [more]
