Vikings Coach Keeping Cassell as Starter

Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said before the start of the season that he didn’t plan to have a “quick hook” with Matt Cassel as the starting quarterback.

It appears Zimmer is sticking to that approach.

Zimmer said Cassel will start next Sunday in New Orleans despite throwing four interceptions in the Vikings’ 30-7 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

“I take full responsibility for not taking care of the football today. I’ve got to do a better job, and I will.”
