Per a source, Texas Southern defensive back Tray Walker (6-foot-3, 203 pounds) is scheduled to visit with the Oakland Raiders. Walker was once an anonymous prospect among the heavy hitters at the position, but those times are changing. He is slowly gaining acceptance in the NFL Scouting community as a late round draft prospect.

Invited to the Super Regional Combine (March 21-22) in Phoenix, he has yet another chance to show his vast array of talents to scouts. His combination of size and physicality resemble Seattle’s Richard Sherman. Walker is able to direct receivers with his strength and has the speed to stay stride-for-stride on deep routes. He possesses exceptional length with long arms (33 5/8”) and an impressive frame built for the NFL. The Miami native finished with 41 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, and three inceptions as a senior.

Cornerback D.J. Hayden is Oakland’s best cover corner and adding additional help via free agency or the NFL Draft would be a vital step to get the Raiders out of the basement of the AFC West.
