In a matter of just a couple weeks, Christine Michael went from fantasy football darling and the Seattle Seahawks No. 1 running back to a man looking for a job.

With Thomas Rawls coming back from a broken leg, the Seahawks decided to part ways with Michael on Tuesday evening.

Seattle will now go with Rawls and rookie C.J. Prosise in their backfield the rest of the way.  Prosise was a key factor in the team’s 31-24 victory over New England Sunday night as he ran for 66 yards and caught seven passes for 87 yards.

“Isn’t he something?” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “He’s a really good player. We’ve just been pumped up about him the whole time. When we went into the draft, we wanted to get that guy for exactly what you saw tonight… We fell in love with him during the draft process.”

“I just went out there and did my job,” Prosise said. “I was given an opportunity and wanted to make the most of it.

“It’s been an up-and-down year, but it’s a long season. Everybody is going to get their opportunity to have their night. Tonight was my night, and I just made the most of my opportunity.”

As for Michael, he shouldn’t be out of work too long unless this transaction is more than just a depth move. Don’t be surprised if teams such as Cleveland, Baltimore, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis put in a waiver claim on the former Texas A & M product.
