Good News For Arian Foster

Over the past few seasons, veteran back Arian Foster has proven to be injury prone. The four-time Pro Bowler hasn’t completed a full 16-game season since 2012, when he rushed for over 1,400 yards to go along with 17 touchdowns (two receiving).

The latest hiccup is a hip injury, which at the time was thought to be pretty serious, but head coach Bill O’Brien seems optimistic about Foster’s rehab thus far.

“Arian is doing well,” O’Brien said Monday. “Relative to the injury that he has and prognosis early on, I would say he’s ahead of that.”

Now don’t get too excited Houston because it’s still likely Foster will miss multiple games, but maybe it won’t be as many as we originally thought.

“Like I always say to people, I reserve the right to change my mind,” O’Brien stressed. “But as it stands today, I believe that he’s really working hard to get back. He’s a very hard-working guy in that training room and I think he’ll be back sooner rather than later, relative to what the early prognosis was.”

With so much inexperience and uncertainty behind Foster in the backfield, there’s no doubt Houston hopes Foster will be ready to go sooner rather than later.

Jason Pierre-Paul Ready To Go

After a bizarre series of events over the summer concerning Jason Pierre-Paul and the New York Giants, the following news will come as a welcomed sign for Giants fans.

The elite pass rusher finally meet with the team and underwent a successful physical. Apparently things went so good that the two-time Pro Bowler is ready to go against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.

However, that doesn’t mean Pierre-Paul will necessarily play this week.

Ultimately, it’ll be up to the Giants if JPP plays or not against Dallas. Head coach Tom Coughlin wants to make sure he’s 100 percent.

“We need a healthy Jason Pierre-Paul, certainly,” Coughlin stated. “He’s a guy that would add to our team provided he’s healthy and he can play at the level he’s played at.”

Getting back into the swing of things may feel weird at first for Pierre-Paul, but Eli Manning doesn’t think it’ll be too difficult for his fellow teammate.

“Well, obviously just welcome him back and try to get him caught up to speed. It’s a new defensive system for us,” Manning explained. “Try to get him up to date on that. Obviously, it’s a locker room, it’s a close group, close-knit group. We’ll welcome him back and he’s a part of the team. Get him back and support him in his process to getting back to playing.”

The return of Pierre-Paul will be greatly appreciated, after all, he did lead the team with 12.5 sacks last year.

Will Seattle Really Trade Kam Chancellor?

The defending two-time NFC champion Seattle Seahawks main focus should be on the St. Louis Rams. Instead, Pete Carroll is having to answer questions concerning star safety Kam Chancellor.

Over the weekend, there were rumblings about the Seahawks and Giants discussing a possible trade involving Chancellor, but Carroll doesn’t think it’ll amount to anything serious at this point.

“There have been a couple phone calls from other teams, people just kind of wondering what’s going on,” Carroll stated. “We really are not interested in talking to them about that, so we don’t.”

It’s fairly impressive to see Chancellor play hardball for this long, however, if he intends on holding out of regular season games, he’ll lose out on $267,467 for every game missed.

Do you really think Chancellor wants to miss out on that kind of money?

Only time will tell.
