Le’Veon Bell Claims Bengals Won’t Hurt Him Again

The last two times Le’Veon Bell faced Cincinnati, he’s ended up hurt. Two years ago, a hit from safety Reggie Nelson left him with a banged up knee, which sidelined him for Pittsburgh’s playoff loss to the Ravens. Just a season ago, a violent hit from linebacker Vontaze Burfict ended his season.

As the Steelers fight for their playoff lives, Bell understands he must be careful against the Bengals this time around.

“I’m pretty sure they are going to do whatever they got to try to get me off the field. It is what it is. I understand that,” Bell said. “The last two times I’ve played them, it’s been that way. I’m obviously not going to let it happen a third time. I’m going to be prepared for everything. Got to, because with my mindset I have to be smart about it.”

Considering Bell’s running style, it’ll be interesting to see how he prepares for potential dirty hits. Kickoff is set for one eastern time from Paul Brown Stadium.
