For the first time in 14 years, the Oakland Raiders experienced postseason football. After leading the Raiders to an impressive (7-9) in his first year as head coach, many expected Jack Del Rio’s ballclub to break the playoff drought this season.

As Oakland looks towards the future, the front office made sure Del Rio was locked up.

“The Raiders have torn up Jack Del Rio’s original contract and rewarded him with a new four-year deal,” owner Mark Davis stated. “We are excited to continue building on the strong foundation that has been established and this is a significant step in achieving that goal.”

Since Oakland received a taste of the playoffs, the next step is to actual win a game, which is something they haven’t done since 2002.
