We’re certainly not putting on a clinic in prognostication this year, but as always we’ll try our best to improve every day (week).  Let’s see what our admittedly cloudy crystal ball says for this weekend’s games.

N.Y. Giants vs. Los Angeles

The NFL returns to London which means a 9:30 a.m. kickoff on the east coast and a 6:30 a.m. kickoff in L.A.  For that reason there would be a slight edge to the Giants, but the Rams are better coached and have seemingly found their identity.  Rams 23, Giants 21. 

New Orleans vs. Kansas City

The Chiefs have an opening in the AFC West and they’re a good team.  Good teams polish off teams like the Saints at home.  Chiefs 31, Saints 20. 

Indianapolis vs. Tennessee

The Titans seem to have a better roster than the Colts and they’re playing at home.  With that said, the Colts have Andrew Luck who has been historically dominant against the rest of the AFC South.  Indy won’t lose two in a row inside the division in consecutive weeks.  Colts 27, Titans 23. 

Minnesota vs. Philadelphia

The Vikings have had two weeks to prepare for a rookie quarterback.  It helps that Philly is playing at home, but that won’t be enough to beat the best team in the NFC.  Vikings 20, Eagles 16. 

Cleveland vs. Cincinnati

It may only be Week 7, but make no mistake this is a must win game for the Bengals.  They can’t afford to drop to 2-5, especially if it means handing Cleveland their first win especially against former OC Hue Jackson.  Bengals 38, Browns 21. 

Washington vs. Detroit

This is a tough game as it can really go either way.  Similar amount of talent on the rosters and less than tremendous coaches.  The Lions are at home and they have Teryl Austin.  Lions 26, Redskins 24. 

Oakland vs. Jacksonville

This almost feels like it’s a classic Vegas trap.  The Jaguars are actually favored against a 4-2 Raiders team that has beaten all of the bad teams on their schedule.  It’s tough to imagine the Jaguars staying undefeated in October, even if it’s falling into the trap.  Raiders 31, Jags 27. 

Buffalo vs. Miami

The Bills have won four straight games and they come in playing much better football than Miami, who pulled a surprise upset over Pittsburgh last weekend.  Everything here says Bills, but I’m going the other way.  Dolphins 20, Bills 16. 

Baltimore vs. N.Y. Jets

The return of Geno Smith against a Ravens team without Terrell Suggs and possibly without Joe Flacco.  Baltimore seems to have a better roster, but they won’t be able to exploit a bad Jets secondary.  Jets 24, Ravens 20. 

Tampa Bay vs. San Francisco

The Bucs have a much more talented roster and an extra week to prepare for one of the worst teams in the NFL.  I’d like it better if Tampa was at home, but they should be able to come away with a solid win.  Bucs 28, 49ers 17. 

San Diego vs. Atlanta

This seems like a matchup of teams going in opposite directions.  Before you start believing this is a no-brainer Falcons pick, the quick release of Philip Rivers can nullify the newfound Atlanta pass rush.  Closer than you think.  Falcons 23, Chargers 20. 

New England vs. Pittsburgh

This would have been a great matchup if Ben Roethlisberger was healthy.  He’s not, and the Steelers secondary will get exposed.  Pats 41, Steelers 17. 

Seattle vs. Arizona

This game could decide the NFC West if Seattle can come away with a victory.  Neither unit seems to be playing as well as last season, but the Seahawks have found a way to involve Jimmy Graham in the passing game and that will certainly help in this one.  Seahawks 24, Cards 17. 

Houston vs. Denver

The return of Brock Osweiler!  It’s going to look really bad for him and the Texans when Trevor Siemian beats him.  Broncos 20, Texans 13.
