Where Will Paxton Lynch Go?

After the Los Angeles Rams traded up to the No. 1 pick, and the Philadelphia Eagles moved to No. 2, it all but cemented quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz being selected with those top two picks.

This has drastic effects on the almost consensus No. 3 quarterback, Paxton Lynch.

About a month ago, Lynch was trending in the 20’s in most mock drafts; however, since the trades there have been a significant shakeup in where Lynch will go. There have been rumblings that the Dallas Cowboys are enamored with the big-armed Memphis quarterback and that he could go as high as No. 4, if Dallas is set on getting their quarterback of the future.

Furthermore, the San Francisco 49ers are another team who may want to take a stab at Lynch. He has the athleticism and arm talent to fit head coach Chip Kelly’s scheme extremely well.

Overall, don’t be surprised if the small-school stud is gone way before anyone projects and three quarterbacks go in the top-10.

Underrated Prospect Of The Week: Isaac Seumalo, Center/Guard, Oregon State

The 2016 NFL draft is littered with interior offensive lineman who can be day-one starters in the NFL. One that consistently overlooked is Oregon State’s Isaac Seumalo. The former Freshman All-American has the versatility you look for in a mid-round offensive lineman as he has played four out of the five offensive line spots during his time with the Beavers.

Seumalo plays well from the ground up. He has great feet and he utilizes those feet to quickly set and cut off defenders on a regular basis. His hips stay square to the line of scrimmage and he rarely gives up his edge. Where he tends to get into to trouble is the placement of his hands when he punches. Even though his punches are strong, he doesn’t put them in a position to adequately hold on to the defender.

Seumalo projects best at center in the NFL, but he has the ability to play at either guard spot as well. He has the ability to start at center from day one; however, it would be better if he was initially deployed as the Swiss-army knife reserve interior offensive lineman until he fixes his hands and adds a little bit more bulk.

NFL Network Or ESPN On Day One Of NFL Draft?

ESPN Main Desk Lineup: Chris Berman, Mel Kiper Jr., Louis Riddick, Jon Gruden

The biggest decision that most fans have on draft day is whether to watch the event on ESPN or NFL Network. Both channels have their pro’s and con’s and ultimately it comes down to what flavor of draft ice cream they like better.

ESPN is much better at highlighting the spectacle that the NFL draft is. They do a good job of telling the stories of the prospects and delving into the storylines of the draft. The NFL Network is much more about the information and they go into the strengths and weaknesses of each player than ESPN.

From an analyst perspective, Rich Eisen and Mike Mayock are much better than Chris Berman and Mel Kiper. Berman’s tendency to mumble and pontificate about nonsense is almost nauseating. Eisen and Mayock make up a great tandem that litters the airwaves with gems. Steve Mariucci and David Shaw give a good coach perspective for the NFL Network as Jon Gruden does the same in his own unique (and quarterback loving) way for ESPN. The real blue-chip talent among both channels is Louis Riddick. He routinely provides great context and analysis during the draft and he alone warrants many to turn on ESPN.

Ultimately, it appears as though the NFL Network has the best cast, but it will be vital to clock over to ESPN to glean the valuable insight from Riddick.
