The Miami Dolphins released running back Demitrius Bronson and punter Brandon Fields, who was a Pro Bowl selection in 2013.

Fields was a seventh-round pick in 2007 and served as the Dolphins punter ever since. He was released to save $980,000 against the salary cap.

The Dolphins are handing the punting job to Tennessee rookie Matt Darr, who has averaged 51.2 yards in the preseason on nine punts.

Bronson, 25, attended Eastern Washington and had four carries for minus-4 yards in the preseason.
