The Tennessee Titans are on the clock as they lead off the second day of the NFL Draft.  Tennessee addressed their quarterback situation last night as they opted against the numerous trade offers and selected Marcus Mariota with their second-overall pick.

The Titans will have a great opportunity to address another need in the second round or trade back and collect more valuable selections as teams have had a full night to rework their draft plans.

Whatever they decide to do, there is plenty of good talent left on the board.

Randy Gregory– Randy Gregory was once thought of as a potential Top-5 pick, but a failed NFL Combine drug test and the perception that he was a problem has dropped him out of the first round.  This free-fall has cost him millions of dollars and could help him refocus for whatever team gets this first round talent at a bargain basement price.

Dorial Green-Beckham– In a draft that’s loaded at the wide receiver position, Dorial Green-Beckham may be the most talented of them all.  So why is he still available?  A laundry list of off the field issues has marred his collegiate career and whatever team that selects the talented giant will have to do their homework and potentially keep a Dez Bryant-like security detail on him.

Jaelen Strong- This former Arizona State wide receiver was simply a victim of numbers.  I don’t believe any talent evaluator believes that there are at least 32 players in this draft that were better than Strong, but there were five wide receivers that were better fits for the Raiders, Bears, Dolphins, Ravens and Colts respectively.  There was a run on offensive linemen and cornerbacks who weren’t as good football players which caused Strong to drop.

Owamagbe Odighizuwa– It wasn’t a shock that Odighizuwa dropped into the second round, as his position was loaded and he isn’t a fit for every team.  Still, whoever selects this fine pass rusher will get a player who could make a Michael Johnson-like of impact (Cincy, not Tampa).

Duke Johnson– Duke Johnson might not be Todd Gurley, but he does have two healthy ACL’s.  Johnson could be a perennial 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL for a long time to come as he has great burst, vision and the ability to get tough yards between the tackles.  With Tennessee and Jacksonville picking in the Top 5 of the second round, it’s possible that Johnson hears his name called very early Friday night.

La’el Collins– We have to mention a sure-fire first-round talent in La’el Collins not only dropping out of the first round, but likely dropping out of the draft altogether.  Collins isn’t a suspect, but he is being questioned about the murder of his ex-girlfriend and that makes him completely toxic in the eyes of NFL teams.  It’s unlikely that Collins gets selected this weekend or even signed as an undrafted free agent until this matter is settled.

T.J. Clemmings- The massive Pittsburgh offensive tackle was largely considered a first-round pick for much of the season.  A poor Senior Bowl showing and a reported stress fracture has dropped him out of the first round.  Playing a premium position, Clemmings should hear his name called relatively early Friday night.

Jay Ajayi– The ultra-productive running back from Boise State should step in immediately and produce on the next level.  Ajayi can do a little of everything and the only thing that kept him from being a first-round pick has been the fact his position has been devalued and it’s very deep.

Jake Fisher- It’s somewhat of a surprise that former Oregon left tackle Jake Fisher is still on the board.  Fisher is on that second-tier of offensive tackles in this draft but has been rising up boards late in the process.  With a team like the Tampa Bay Bucs who have severe needs on the offensive line selecting early, it would be a surprise if Fisher didn’t hear his name called early.

Eli Harold- The former Virginia pass rusher can be a full-time starter on a team that needs an edge rusher and is a victim of numbers in this draft.  Harold ranks behind Dante Fowler, Vic Beasley, Bud Dupree, Shane Ray and Randy Gregory, and that’s what has moved him down.  He would likely be the best edge rusher in the 2016 Draft.
