*Keys to the game: Poised is the word Jets coach Todd Bowles used to describe Redskins QB Kirk Cousins. He could get No. 1 receiver DeSean Jackson (hamstring) on the field for the first time since Week 1. Cousins’ physical wellbeing depends on RBs Alfred Morris and Matt Jones, who have averaged 2.75 yards per carry over the past three games.

The Jets thrive when they run the ball and the Redskins were gashed for 176 yards on the ground by the Falcons last week. Expect a fresh RB Chris Ivory to get at least 20 carries as offensive coordinator Chan Gailey looks to batter the Redskins in order to open up opportunities for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and WR Brandon Marshall with Washington’s top two corners out of the lineup.

*Matchup to watch – Redskins secondary vs. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick: Injuries hit Washington hard at cornerback. Fitzpatrick has six interceptions despite being sacked a league-low twice in four games. If the Redskins can invade the pocket, their secondary could get a Fitzpatrick floater or two and flip the field.

*Player spotlight – Jets DE Sheldon Richardson: He’s back after serving a four-game NFL suspension and planning to contribute at least in pass-rushing situations, one weak spot thus far for the Jets, who have just seven sacks in the first four games.

*Fast facts: The Jets were 1-5 after the bye week under former head coach Rex Ryan. … The Redskins are 1-9 on the road under ooach Jay Gruden.

WHO WILL WIN AND WHY

The Jets control the ball and the game with aggressive defense and plenty of RB Chris Ivory, as Washington puts up a fight but tuckers out in the fourth quarter.
