The Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday signed veteran kicker Garrett Hartley to replace injured Shaun Suisham.

Hartley’s agent Erik Burkhardt confirmed that the former Saints and Browns kicker would take over for Suisham, who tore his ACL on a kickoff in Sunday’s preseason opening game against Minnesota.

In seven seasons, Hartley has connected on 81.7 percent of his field goal attempts. He most recently kicked for Cleveland last season where he went 3-for-3.

Hartley made three field goals of 46, 44 and 47 yards in Super Bowl XLIV, the first kicker to convert three field goals of 40 yards or more in Super Bowl history. He is a perfect 8-for-8 in postseason games.

Suisham will undergo surgery on his left knee sometime this week and most likely will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
