Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is a “say-what-I-do” kind of guy, so it was no surprise to his teammates when he was on the practice field as a full participant again Wednesday.

Sherman said his sprained elbow is “a little sore, but not too bad” while free safety Earl Thomas (sprained shoulder) spent most of the day in treatment and did not practice.

Sherman was his usual, feisty self.

“If I had to slap my brother, I’d be able to do it,” he said of his range of motion.

Sherman will practice in a brace before making a decision on arming up for the Super Bowl. The football savant is already layers deep into his personal preparation for quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, who he expects to challenge the right side of the field where Sherman aligns.

Sherman infamously ran across the field to find Brady after the Seahawks 24-23 victory in 2012.

Sherman screamed within the view of TV cameras, “You mad bro? You mad bro?”

Later he explained Brady called him a nobody and challenged him to come find him after the game.

“Like I said before, I think people some time get a skewed view of Tom Brady — that he’s just a clean cut, does everything right, and never says a bad word to anyone, and we know him to be otherwise,” Sherman said Wednesday. “But in that moment of him being himself, he said some things and we returned the favor. Unfortunately, he apparently didn’t remember what he said.”

While Sherman and Brady are getting the media attention, the Legion of Boom star with the most on his plate next week could be strong safety Kam Chancellor. It was the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Chancellor who struck the blow to Sherman’s arm that led to an elbow injury in Sunday’s game against the Packers.

Next week, Chancellor will get mostly single coverage of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Brady’s favorite target jumped off the film in secondary meetings. But Chancellor’s ferocious hits are something Gronkowski sees little of, and the Seahawks thrive on.

“It gives us energy — they give us life,” Sherman said. “They allow us to play free — we were out and somebody came up to us, but Kam wasn’t around, but I was like, ‘we’re a bunch of wild dogs until the big lion comes around and we’re some bad men when he comes. He just brings that menacing force — we’re a pack of wild dogs and they’re pretty dangerous, but a lion running with a pack of wild dogs — that’s something.”

And, after all, if Chancellor does his job on Gronkowski, Sherman could get some work. In his only other game against Brady, Sherman saw a total of 10 pass attempts to his side of the field — three were completed.

Now, he’s likely in Brady’s sights for the Super Bowl rematch.

“I could care less,” Sherman said. “I hope so, gives me more opportunities to get the ball. He’s had me in his sights before. It’s fine.”
