EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle has never been one to hold his tongue when something is on his mind.

That was the case on Tuesday when, during his weekly radio spot on WFAN, Rolle openly questioned the passion and want-to of his teammates.

“I just think that’s something we’re missing a lot,” Rolle said. “On our sideline, it’s very dead — throughout the course of the game it’s dead. We need a pulse. It needs to be shown that you care about this game.”

This isn’t the first time since he has been a Giant that Rolle has questioned his teammates’ collective heart.

He did so in 2011, his words igniting a spark that drove the Giants to a Super Bowl championship.

With the Giants stuck in a three-game losing streak and their schedule not getting any easier, Rolle, a defensive co-captain, is hoping to do the same this year.

“You got to play this game with passion. You got 53 players; you should never have to talk to another grown man about playing this game with passion. Whether you get beat, whether you give up a sack, whether you throw an interception, whether you drop in an interception, you are not gonna be perfect and that’s OK, but you play hard.

“You got to go out there and you got to get down and get dirty, you got to get nasty in this game. There’s no room for nice guys in this league.”

He then delivered the most damning statement of all.

“I feel like our entire team — I’m not saying we’re not playing with a passion — I’m saying were not playing with enough passion, enough attitude.

“We’re 3-5, we shouldn’t go out there and be relaxed about anything. Are we believing we’re gonna go out there and dominate this game? I’m not seeing that.”

Rolle did praise rookie receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for giving his all to what was a losing and embarrassing team effort.

“Yesterday in that locker room I look into Beckham’s eyes and literally his eyes are bloodshot red. He wants the ball, he wants to be great,” Rolle said. “He plays with an attitude. We need more of that.”
