Packers’ Rodgers probable for Bears

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is listed as probable for Sunday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Rodgers suffered a hamstring injury in Week 8 at New Orleans, but it doesn’t appear to be hindering his ability to prepare the game in Chicago.

The Packers (5-3) are one game back of Detroit in the NFC North. The Bears (3-5) are in last place in the North.

Packers starting guards Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang are both listed as questionable after participating in a workout on Friday morning.

“They both completed it,” head coach Mike McCarthy said of the workout, which tested Sitton’s toe injury and Lang’s ankle. “The workload they were asked to do, they exceeded it. That part went well. Their evaluation tomorrow is the next step we have to get through.”

The Packers will practice Saturday, but McCarthy said he isn’t necessarily expecting Sitton and Lang to practice because he wants to make sure backup options Lane Taylor, JC Tretter and Garth Gerhart get enough reps in case they are needed.

McCarthy said Rodgers is “ready to go.”

“He feels good,” McCarthy said. “He had a couple throws to his left yesterday. That was the last thing I think he wanted to feel and see. We’ve got a full game plan.”

Rodgers has 2,092 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions through eight games.

Safety Morgan Burnett (calf), cornerback Sam Shields (knee) and defensive end Datone Jones (ankle) are listed as probable.

McCarthy said wide receiver Kevin Dorsey’s foot injury is “significant” and he will be sidelined multiple weeks.
