The New England Patriots reportedly lost running back Stevan Ridley and linebacker Jerod Mayo for the season.

Ridley suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the Patriots’ 37-22 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, according to ESPN and NFL.com. Mayo has a lower-leg injury.

Ridley had started five of the Patriots’ six games and was the team’s leading rusher with 340 yards on 94 attempts.

Mayo has led the team in tackles for five of the past six years. His 53 tackles are double the number of the team’s No. 2 tackler, Jamie Collins.

The Patriots re-signed offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann to the practice squad and released offensive lineman Chris Martin from the practice squad.

—Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack, a mainstay on the offensive line since he was drafted in the first round of the 2009 draft, is out for the 2014 season with a broken fibula.

Mack was injured his left leg and ankle in Sunday’s victory over the Steelers. Mack, who re-signed with the team after agreeing to an offer sheet with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a restricted free agent, had never missed a single snap before Sunday’s injury. His streak ended at 5,279 consecutive plays.

—New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz, who tore the patellar tendon in his right knee during the third quarter of Sunday’s loss, underwent knee surgery on Monday.

Cruz is expected to miss the rest of the season, and coach Tom Coughlin did not give a timetable for Cruz’s possible return.

— Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, who suffered a dislocated ankle on September 14, is not ready to participate in team drills this week, but he is expected to begin working out on his own on Wednesday.

The Redskins want Griffin to have at least one full week of practice with the team under his belt before he returns for a game. That timeline means it is possible he could play in the Monday night game in Dallas on October 27.

—Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green expects to miss another week due to the toe injury that held him out of Sunday’s 37-37 tie with the Carolina Panthers.

Green told ESPN that he probably will sit out but plans to see a foot doctor again this week to determine whether he can play against the Indianapolis Colts.

However, coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that Green “has a shot to play” this week.

—The agent for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Mike Williams called the team to ask permission to seek a trade.

After the Bills made Williams inactive for the game against the New England Patriots, Williams’ agent, Hadley Engelhard, called general manager Doug Whaley and asked permission to seek a trade.

—Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles suffered a sprained left MCL on Sunday and is expected to miss a week or two, coach Chip Kelly said. The Eagles have a bye this week, and Kelly said they would assess the injury after the week off.

—Seattle Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung reportedly is playing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Okung suffered the shoulder injury in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos but returned to play in that game and has started the past two games as well.

However, team sources told Q13 Fox that Okung has been playing through the pain of a torn labrum.

—New York Jets cornerback Dee Milliner reportedly is out for the season with a torn Achilles.

The injury forced him to leave the Jets’ 31-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that tests revealed a torn Achilles.

—Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell did not rule out the possibility of sitting wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has been slowed with an ankle sprain, for the next two weeks.

Caldwell said it is possible Johnson could be miss games against the New Orleans Sainits and Atlanta Falcons, and not return until the team’s bye week in Week 9.

—Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams will miss at least two more weeks with a high ankle sprain that already has forced him to miss two games, coach Ron Rivera said.

—The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed fullback Lonnie Pryor and defensive end George Uko to their practice squad.
