Alex Smith threw a second-quarter touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin and the Kansas City Chiefs went on to post a 14-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a preseason game on Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

Smith’s 3-yard hookup with Maclin, who signed with the Chiefs in the offseason, was the veteran quarterback’s first scoring pass to a wide receiver since 2013.

Smith finished 11-of-18 passing for 81 yards. He threw one interception that Bobby Wagner took back 25 yards for a touchdown to give the Seahawks a 10-7 lead at the half.

The Chiefs scored the winning touchdown early in the third quarter when Chase Daniel threw a 1-yard pass to James O’Shaughnessy. Daniel has four touchdown passes and no interceptions in two exhibition games.

Seattle’s Russell Wilson faced constant pressure and completed 9 of 15 passes for 78 yards. Jimmy Graham caught three passes for 39 yards.

Jets 30, Falcons 22

New York came back from an early 14-0 deficit to beat Atlanta in East Rutherford, N.J.

Matt Ryan guided Atlanta to two touchdowns in his only series to stake the Falcons to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Ryan threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Leonard Hankerson and finished 4 of 5 for 75 yards. Most of the yards came on a 60-yard hookup with Collin Mooney.

The Falcons’ opening touchdown came on a 4-yard run by rookie Terron Ward.

The Jets rallied in the second quarter to take a 16-14 lead at halftime. First-round draft pick Leonard Williams sacked T.J. Yates in the end zone, Chris Ivory ran 33 yards for a touchdown, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a two-point conversion pass to Brandon Marshall, and Nick Folk kicked 36- and 29-yard field goals.

Ivory finished with 36 yards on five carries.

In the third quarter, Bryce Petty threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to DeVier Posey and Rontez Miles ran 57 yards after a fumble recovery to complete New York’s scoring.

Fitzpatrick was 13 of 19 for 118 yards. Petty completed 12 of 19 passes for 168 yards.
