The New York Giants placed running back Peyton Hillis on season-ending injured reserve Saturday with a concussion.

Hillis was injured last Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. It is the second consecutive season that Hillis has been sidelined with a concussion. He missed a game last December, also against the Seahawks.

Hillis finishes the season with 115 yards on 26 carries. He also had 10 catches for 87 yards.

The Giants promoted linebacker Justin Anderson from the practice squad to take the roster spot.

Hillis mainly played during third-down situations. Rashad Jennings is expected to return from a knee injury Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, with Andre Williams returning to a backup role.
