San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick reiterated after Sunday’s game that he didn’t say anything derogatory — especially a racial slur — last week to Chicago Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston. Kaepernick finished Sunday’s loss 29-for-37 for 245 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kaepernick was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct during the 49ers’ Week 2 loss, the “Monday Night Football” home game against the Bears, but said Tuesday he didn’t say anything to warrant the flag.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, referees caught Kaepernick using a racial slur.

The NFL competition committee last spring passed new rules to penalize players and coaches for “inappropriate language.”

Glazer said Kaepernick is appealing a fine of $11,025.
