Falcons release WR Douglas
The Atlanta Falcons released wide receiver Harry Douglas, according to reports Friday.
Douglas was due to make $3.5 million in the final year of the four-year contract he signed with the Falcons in 2012. Jackson’s departure reportedly saves the team $3.75 million in salary cap space.
Douglas has been with the Falcons since 2008, and racked up 258 receptions, 3,130 yards and eight touchdowns. Last season, he had 51 catches for 556 yards and two scores in 12 games.
The move comes one day after the Falcons released veteran running back Steven Jackson.
