The Dallas Cowboys may not be finished with making changes with the starting lineup during the team’s bye week after switching to Matt Cassel as their quarterback.

The Cowboys also are considering changes at running back and left guard, sources told ESPN.com on Wednesday.

Running back Christine Michael, who was acquired via trade from the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 6, could start over Joseph Randle in the Cowboys’ backfield before the Oct. 25 game against the New York Giants.

Michael, who was inactive in the first three games after being acquired, rushed for six yards on one attempt in last Sunday’s 30-6 loss to the New England Patriots. In 14 games over two seasons with the Seahawks, Michael, a second-round pick in 2013, had 52 carries for 254 yards.

Rookie offensive lineman La’el Collins is pushing Ronald Leary for the starting job at left guard, ESPN reported. Collins, who started in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons while Leary was recovering from a groin strain, was inactive the past two weeks.

The Cowboys (2-3) are winless in three games without Tony Romo as their starting quarterback.

Brandon Weeden was told that the Cowboys are going to start Cassel, according to multiple reports Tuesday. Weeden started three games after Romo went down with a broken collarbone, completing 64 of 91 passes for 666 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Cassell was acquired in late September from the Buffalo Bills in a trade.
