The Kansas City Chiefs signed defensive end Allen Bailey to a contract extension Saturday.

The team did not release terms of the deal.

Bailey has 72 tackles (54 solo), 13 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks, 12 quarterback pressures, five pass breakups and two fumble recoveries in 50 games (13 starts) over four NFL seasons with the Chiefs.

This season, Bailey has 27 tackles (18 solo), 4.0 sacks and seven quarterback pressures in nine starts.

“We are happy that we were able to reach an agreement to keep Allen in Kansas City,” general manager John Dorsey said in a statement. “He has developed into a good football player and a key member of our defense.”

Bailey was taken by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Miami.
