Week 12 NFL Picks

Last week was a positive one and we were perfect on Thursday.  It’s time to keep the positive momentum going.

Tennessee vs. Chicago

There’s a good chance that Matt Barkley might start at quarterback for the Bears.  Even if he doesn’t, the Titans are a better football team and should win this one going away.  Titans 24, Bears 10.

Jacksonville vs. Buffalo

The Jaguars can’t beat anyone right now, despite having enough talent on the field where they should be able to compete with anyone.  The Bills are in a Wildcard race and will find a way to win.  Bills 23, Jaguars 16.

Cincinnati vs. Baltimore

The Bengals have a better roster, but the season has got away from them.  Baltimore should win this game, but this is the NFL, and weird things happen.  Bengals 17, Ravens 16.

Arizona vs. Atlanta

Have the Cardinals realized that their season is over yet?  If they have, this one could turn into a blowout.  Regardless, this is a very good matchup for Atlanta.  Falcons 31, Cards 21.

N.Y. Giants vs. Cleveland

As the Browns losing streak has perpetuated, I said that they’d win a game, I’m just not sure which one.  The Giants are the hottest team outside of Dallas, and this sets up for the perfect upset.  Browns 24, Giants 23.

Los Angeles vs. New Orleans

Will Jared Goff’s second start go better than his first one?  That’s possible as he takes on a terrible Saints defense.  Still, it’s probably not enough for them to get a road win.  Saints 27, Rams 24.

San Francisco vs. Miami

Miami is another one of those teams that aren’t nearly as good as their 6-4 record would suggest, but the 49ers aren’t as good as their 1-9 record would suggest.  This should be an easy one.  Dolphins 27, 49ers 13.

San Diego vs. Houston

The Chargers are certainly capable of pulling a road win here, but it’s unlikely that they will.  The Texans are undefeated at home and enter this game as home underdogs.  Houston will circle the wagons and find a way to win and take further control of the AFC South.  Texans 23, Chargers 22.

Seattle vs. Tampa Bay

The Seahawks might be without Michael Bennett and Earl Thomas.  Those are key injuries.  Tampa Bay is relatively healthy and a heavy underdog at home.  Upset special!  Bucs 24, ‘Hawks 20.

Carolina vs. Oakland

This shouldn’t be a particularly close game as Oakland is the better team and they’re playing at home.  It just feels like it’s not going to go as easy as planned.  Raiders 24, Panthers 23.

New England vs. N.Y. Jets

Tom Brady might not play in this one after not practicing all week.  Even if he doesn’t play, Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy and a much better quarterback than anyone that’s on the Jets roster.  The Pats should win this one going away.  Pats 34, Jets 20.

Kansas City vs. Denver

This is a better matchup for the Chiefs than most people realize.  As pedestrian as Alex Smith is, he’s a lot better than Trevor Siemian.  Chiefs 20, Broncos 16.

Green Bay vs. Philadelphia

The Packers have tricked me all season long.  They’re a bad football team with a great quarterback.  That won’t be enough on the road against a very good Philadelphia defense.  Eagles 17, Packers 13.

Last week: 9-4

Season: 87-68-2
