Week 12 NFL Picks

We bounced back last week with a positive showing, but this week is already off to a rough start, as we lost two out of the three Thanksgiving games.  Without further ado, here are the picks for the remaining games of Week 12.

Oakland vs. Tennessee

The Titans are fighting hard, but they don’t have enough offensive weapons to expose a mediocre-to-bad Raiders defense.  This one should be close, but Oakland has too many playmakers.  Raiders 20, Titans 16.

Buffalo vs. Kansas City

This game is vitally important in the Wildcard race as the winner will have a leg up on the final spot.  After going back and forth on this, we’re going to pick the team with the better roster, and that’s Buffalo.  Bills 24, Chiefs 17.

Tampa Bay vs. Indianapolis

Bucs rookie Jameis Winston has been playing much better on the road than at home, and Colts veteran backup Matt Hasselbeck is due for a bad game.  So, we’re picking the Bucs, right?  Nope.  Colts 27, Bucs 20.

New York Giants vs. Washington

The Giants have had two weeks to prepare for a bad quarterback and bad head coach.  Let’s not over think this.  G-Men 31, Redskins 21.

New Orleans vs. Houston

The Texans defense has been playing great and they’re in both the AFC South and Wildcard races.  The Saints have a new defensive coordinator after giving up 120 points over their last three games.  When it seems one-sided, we like to go the other way.  Saints 24, Texans 20.

Minnesota vs. Atlanta

The Vikings haven’t beaten a winning team all season.  The Falcons have lost four out of their last five games.  Something’s got to give, and it will be the softer team, and that’s Atlanta.  Vikings 20, Falcons 13.

St. Louis vs. Cincinnati

After two straight losses, the Bengals will get healthy against a pretty bad Rams offense.  Bengals 31, Rams 13.

San Diego vs. Jacksonville

It’s difficult to pick the Jaguars to win a third-consecutive game.  With that said, the Chargers have nothing to play for but a draft pick, and they are a West Coast team traveling east with a 10 a.m. PST start.  Why not?  Jags 27, Bolts 23.

Miami vs. New York

Two mediocre teams that have players underperforming.  I’ll take the team with the better coach that’s also playing at home.  J-E-T-S 17, Fish 13.

Arizona vs. San Francisco

So Blaine Gabbert is going against the defense that beat Seattle at their place.  This should go really well.  Cards 41, Niners 9.

Pittsburgh vs. Seattle

One of the most intriguing games of the week features the explosive Pittsburgh offense against a once-proud Seattle defense.  This game will prove that the Seahawks are a different team.  Steelers 38, Seahawks 31.

New England vs. Denver

Can a win against the undefeated Patriots secure the starting quarterback job for Brock Osweiler?  We’ll never know.  Bill Belichick is great against rookie quarterbacks and this will be another ugly, gutty win by the Pats.  Minutemen 20, Fighting Elway’s 17.

Baltimore vs. Cleveland

This is the worst Monday Night Football game in a long time.  Josh McCown vs. Matt Schaub.  Winner: nobody that’s sadistic enough to stay up late to watch.  Also the Browns, 24-10.

Last week: 8-5

Season: 90-69
