Steve Smith Claims He Won’t Come Out Of Retirement

How often do we see players retire just to come back to the sport they love?

We’ve seen Brett Favre do it about 100 times, which makes Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti believe he can convince Steve Smith to return next fall. When Smith caught wind of his former owner’s plan, he shut down any possibility of a return.

“I’m retired. I sent in my paperwork to Roger Goodell on January 2,” Smith said.

While there’s still plenty of time for Smith to change his mind, he sounds like a man comfortable with his decision to walk away from the game.
