Joique Bell Turned Down Pay Cut Before Release

“The NFL is a crazy business,” Bell told reporters Saturday night. “You never know. The Lions made me an offer. I thought I did what was best for my career. I ended up declining the offer.” The Lions released the popular running back earlier this week, ending a four-plus season stint with the organization. Cutting the Benton Harbor native and Wayne State alum saved the team $2.5 million in cap space for 2016.
