Football Insiders’ Week 11 NFL Picks

on

The games are supposed to be easier to pick as the season progresses, but that wasn’t the case in Week 10.  Hopefully, this week goes better.

Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland

The Steelers backs are against the wall and the Browns are playing for the first pick in the draft.  It’s a rivalry game (think hammer versus nail) so Cleveland will probably keep it close for a while.  Steelers 34, Browns 20.

Baltimore vs. Dallas

The Cowboys won an absolute thriller last week and now the quarterback controversy has seemed to have been put to bed.  This should be an easy Dallas win, but the NFL usually keeps you guessing and this will be a fourth quarter game.  Cowboys 23, Ravens 22.

Jacksonville vs. Detroit

The Lions have something to play for and the Jaguars….well, they don’t.  Jacksonville has a more talented roster, but you can’t pick them to beat a good, or even an average team.  Lions 20, Jaguars 12.

Tennessee vs. Indianapolis

The Titans have a better roster, but this is a bad matchup for them.  The Colts have won a couple games in a row and they have a real shot at winning the division, just like everyone that isn’t named Jacksonville. Colts 24, Titans 20.

Buffalo vs. Cincinnati

There are no playoff games in November, but this certainly feels like one as the loser is likely out of the Wildcard race.  The Bengals have a better roster and probably (maybe?) a better head coach.  They’re not playing in primetime so we’ll take them.  Bengals 27, Bills 21.

Tampa Bay vs. Kansas City

The Chiefs are a better team and they haven’t lost at home all season long.  They’re actually the hottest team in the NFL going back to Week 6 of last season.  Tampa will stay close thanks to an explosive offense, but Kansas City will hold on.  Chiefs 27, Bucs 24.

Chicago vs. N.Y. Giants

The Giants are probably a bad 6-3, but I’ll take that over a bad 2-7.  G-Men 31, Bears 17.

Arizona vs. Minnesota

The Vikings are in a free fall and the Cards desperately need a victory.  This should be a playoff level of intensity and Arizona has more to lose in this one.  Cards 20, Vikes 17.

Miami vs. Los Angeles

Jared Goff is making his first start and the Dolphins defense just made Philip Rivers look bad.  This is a bad matchup for L.A.  Dolphins 27, Rams 10.

New England vs. San Francisco

Does this really need a breakdown or explanation?  Pats 41, 49ers 9.

Philadelphia vs. Seattle

Two really good defenses battle each other.  Seattle is the pick because they’re at home and they have an elite quarterback in Russell Wilson.  Seahawks 20, Eagles 12.

Green Bay vs. Washington

I feel like I should pick the Packers because of Aaron Rodgers.  I’ve been doing that all year long and it hasn’t worked out that well.  Definition of insanity…..Packers 23, Redskins 20.

Houston vs. Oakland

Brock Osweiler is a terrible NFL quarterback and Derek Carr is a very good one.  On top of that, the Raiders are playing at home.  Raiders 27, Texans 17.

Last week: 7-7

Season: 75-64-2
