Football Insiders’ Week 10 NFL Picks

on

We came back down to Earth a bit last week with a 7-5 forecast.  This week’s games look a little better so we’ll do our best to rebound.

Green Bay vs. Tennessee

Tennessee is going to have to play quite a bit of ball control to hang with and then defeat the Packers.  They’re capable, but it’s difficult to envision Green Bay dropped below .500.  Packers 24, Titans 17.

Minnesota vs. Washington

How much does home field matter?  There’s virtually no way anyone would pick Washington if they were playing at Minnesota, and at home they’re slight favorites.  I’ll take the better team in this one.  Vikes 20, ‘Skins 17.

Chicago vs. Tampa Bay

I’m pretty sure that the Bucs are a better football team, probably with a better quarterback.  Let’s not overthink this.  Bucs 31, Bears 20.

Kansas City vs. Carolina

The Panthers seem to be getting things together lately with consecutive wins over NFC West opponents.  This is an AFC West opponent and a pretty good one at that.  Chiefs 27, Panthers 21.

Atlanta vs. Philadelphia

This feels like a game that the Falcons should win, but Philly and Carson Wentz are undefeated at home and by Sunday evening they will still be undefeated at home.  Eagles 29, Falcons 24.

Los Angeles vs. New York Jets

A pair of teams who are playing the wrong quarterbacks in the hopes of saving the head coaches jobs.  I’m tempted to pick a tie, but for the purposes of winners.  Jets 12, Rams 9.

Denver vs. New Orleans

The Broncos haven’t fared well of late against teams with explosive offenses and bad defenses.  This Sunday it gets turned around.  Broncos 24, Saints 20.

Houston vs. Jacksonville

The Jaguars are somehow favored in this game.  That’s enough for me.  Texans 27, Jaguars 12.

Miami vs. San Diego

The Dolphins have the more talented, healthier roster.  The Chargers have Philip Rivers.  Chargers 24, Dolphins 20.

Dallas vs. Pittsburgh

The Cowboys are a great team when they’re playing from ahead.  They won’t be playing from ahead in this one.  Steelers 38, Cowboys 27.

San Francisco vs. Arizona

The Cards need this one badly.  Cardinals 34, 49ers 9.

Seattle vs. New England

If the Seahawks can’t pressure Tom Brady then this could get ugly.  Pats 31, Seahawks 23.

Cincinnati vs. New York Giants

The Bengals are the more talented team and the more desperate team.  Then there’s the Andy Dalton playing on national television dilemma.  This is a tough call, but I’ll go Cincy.  Bengals 24, Giants 20.

Last week: 7-5

Season: 68-57-2
