Football Insiders’ NFC West Predictions

on

We have a pretty good consensus about how the NFC West will play out.  Find out why.

Mark Gunnels-

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Arizona Cardinals
3. St. Louis Rams
4. San Francisco 49ers

If there was any year for the Seahawks to be dethroned, it would be this year. The Arizona Cardinals have Carson Palmer back and they managed to finish 11-5 without their veteran quarterback for majority of last season. However, Seattle still has less questions and they have extra motivation from last seasons Super Bowl defeat. St. Louis has an elite defense, but their offense has too many questions and San Francisco? Well, let’s just say they’re in full rebuild mode now.

Charlie Bernstein-

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Arizona Cardinals
3. St. Louis Rams
4. San Francisco 49ers

The Seahawks won’t be as good this season as they have major question marks on the offensive line and in the secondary with no sign of Kam Chancellor.  With that said, they still have less question marks than everyone else in the division….The Cards should fight the Seahawks for the division title, but ultimately fall short due to a bad O-line and a questionable pass rush….St. Louis has the worst quarterback in the division and their great defensive line should keep them out of the cellar….The hard work of the worst offseason in league history will finally bear its fruit for the 49ers come the regular season.

John Owning-

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Arizona Cardinals
3. San Francisco 49ers
4. St. Louis Rams

The Seattle Seahawks are the reigning NFC champions and they should once again find themselves on top of the NFC West. They will have some tough competition, but their defense and running game should be enough to have them in the playoffs once again. The Arizona Cardinals will be close on the Seahawks heels, but they’re missing a dynamic talent on offense that can change games. The San Francisco 49ers have had an awful offseason, which should keep them out of the playoffs once again. The St. Louis Rams are an up and coming team, but their quarterback situation will hold them back once again.

Pat Donovan-

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Arizona Cardinals
3. St. Louis Rams
4. San Francisco 49ers

The St. Louis Rams are a very good football team, but this division is still stacked and the Seattle Seahawks aren’t going anywhere. The Arizona Cardinals will be right there, but Seattle will once again edge them out for the division. The 49ers will finish in last after their tumultuous offseason, but they’re the only team in the division without a real shot.

Devon Jeffreys-

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. St. Louis Rams
3. Arizona Cardinals
4. San Francisco 49ers
This has the potential to be the most exciting divisional race in football with three legitimate division title contenders that could each make noise in the postseason….I still think Seattle has too much on both sides of the ball to be topped, but it’s going to be close. Their offense should be better with Jimmy Graham acting as a safety valve for Russell Wilson, but how long Kam Chancellor’s absence lingers into the season could play a pivotal role here….The Rams are a legitimate quarterback away from being a true contender and it remains to be seen if Nick Foles is that guy. Their defense and running game will give them a chance in every game, especially once Todd Gurley is ready to go….I’m not entirely convinced the Cardinals can recreate their remarkable 2014 season, but they have one of the league’s easiest schedules out of the gate and enough talent on both ends to compete all season long….It’s been a while since we’ve seen a 49ers team this bad. They’ve had one of the worst offseasons I can ever remember and their roster is now almost completely devoid of elite talent. It’s going to be a long year in San Francisco.
