The Atlanta Falcons claimed center Gino Gradkowski off waivers and released center Joe Hawley on Monday.

Gradkowski had been waived by the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

A fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2012, the 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman played in 40 games (16 starts) for the Ravens before he was traded to the Broncos in April.

Hawley (6-3, 302) had played in 57 games (23 starts) for the Falcons since being drafted in the fourth round in 2010.

The Falcons also announced that they signed quarterback Matt Simms, tight end Marcel Jensen, offensive tackle Pierce Burton, cornerback Akeem King, nose tackle Joey Mbu and linebackers Derek Akunne, Stansly Maponga and Tyler Starr to the practice squad.
