Bucs reportedly have deal with OT Cherilus

The Sports Xchange

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly agreed to terms with tackle Gosder Cherilus on a two-year contract on Monday.

The Buccaneers lost right tackle Demar Dotson to a sprained MCL in their preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday. Dotson is expected to be out for up to six weeks.

The Vikings, who lost right tackle Phil Loadholt to an Achilles injury in the same game, also reportedly were interested in Cherilus.

Cherilus was released by the Indianapolis Colts last month. The 2008 first-round pick of the Detroit Lions had visited both the Lions and Buffalo Bills.

In Tampa Bay, he will offer a veteran presence to a line that features rookies Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet.
