Bucs Activate Charles Sims From Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has activated running back Charles Sims III from Injured Reserve and promoted wide receiver Donteea Dye from the practice squad to the active roster.

Sims (6-0, 211) was placed on Injured Reserve on October 10 and began his 21-day practice period on November 21. This season, Sims has played in four games for Tampa Bay this season, starting two. He has rushed 41 times for 116 yards, with one touchdown, while catching 14 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown. He wears No. 34 for Tampa Bay.

Dye (6-0, 195) originally entered the league as a college free agent with Tampa Bay in 2015, playing in 10 games with five starts, catching 11 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has spent time on Tampa Bay’s practice squad this season. He wears No. 17 for the Buccaneers.

The team also announced that offensive lineman Josh Allen and defensive tackle John Hughes III have been waived.
