Browns, Austin Davis Agree to Extension


The Cleveland Browns like what they’ve seen so far out of Austin Davis. Every game, all season The team on Wednesday inked the backup quarterback to a two-year contract extension worth $4.2 million, a source who witnessed the deal told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Set to earn $600,000 in guarantees, Davis is now signed through 2017. Waived by the Rams at final cuts, Davis joined the Browns earlier this month as a safety valve behind starting quarterback Josh McCown and second-year arm Johnny Manziel.
