Broncos waive WR Patton, sign TE Light

The Sports Xchange

The Denver Broncos waived wide receiver Solomon Patton and signed rookie tight end Dan Light on Friday.

The 5-foot-9 Patton, picked up off waivers in May, had worked as a backup return specialist, but he muffed a punt in the preseason opener in Seattle and did not play last week against the Houston Texans.

Light caught 177 passes in four years at Fordham. As a junior, he led FCS (formerly Division I-AA) tight ends with 66 catches.
