Bears claim TE Pantale

The Sports Xchange

The Chicago Bears picked up tight end Chris Pantale off waivers Tuesday after his release from the New York Jets.

The 6-foot-5, 254-pound Pantale spent most of the past two seasons on the Jets’ practice squad. He had no catches but played in the final five regular-season games in 2014, with most of his action coming on special teams.

The 25-year-old Pantale joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2013 from Boston College, where he totaled 98 receptions for 986 yards and seven touchdowns in 45 career games.

The addition of Pantale brings the Bears’ roster to 90 players, including tight ends Martellus Bennett, Bear Pascoe, Blake Annen, Brian Vogler, Jacob Maxwell, Dante Rosario and Zach Miller.
